In the heart of CREATE Arts Center’s rich history, a program named “Studio” has been quietly weaving a tapestry of healing and creativity for the past two decades. Known initially as Studio Downstairs, this initiative took root in 2003 under the visionary guidance of artist and art therapist Sally Brucker.

The story of Studio is a testament to the transformative power of art in the realm of mental health. What began as a humble endeavor in CREATE’s former basement space has blossomed into the flagship art therapy program of the center. This year, we joyously celebrate two decades of the Studio Group Program, a haven for artistic expression and community building.

Established by Sally Brucker in 2003, Studio Downstairs has provided a safe and welcoming space for individuals with various mental health conditions to create art and build community. This Sunday, December 3, from 1-3 pm, join us for a community celebration and Gallery reception at 914 Silver Spring Avenue, Suite 101, Silver Spring, Maryland, 20910, that promises to be a highlight of the year.

**Event Highlights:**

This celebration is more than an event; it’s a testament to the profound impact that Studio has had on the lives of those navigating mental health challenges. Artwork becomes a vessel for healing, and the community formed within these walls is a testament to the resilience and strength of the human spirit.

Mark your calendars, bring your friends and family, and join us for an afternoon of celebration, connection, and the boundless possibilities that arise when art becomes a source of healing.
