When School is Out, Art is In!

No School Day Camps are back for the 2020-21 school year!

Are you looking for a safe, socially distanced, and creative space where your child can spend their days off?

CREATE Arts Center is offering ONLINE and ONSITE No School Day Art Camps for upcoming days off – holidays, teacher conference days, professional development days, and more. Our No School Day Art Camp schedule aligns with Montgomery County Public Schools and DC Public Schools, and also several local private schools and a variety of charter schools. Don’t see a date? Campers spend the day working on a variety of art projects, including painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, and more!

General Information

No School Day Art Camps run throughout the school year, including winter and spring breaks. In order to follow best health practices and minimize exposure, enrollment is capped at a maximum of 8 students (less than 50% of the studio’s capacity).

Price: $75/day

Ages 6-12. Camp runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Before care and after care are not currently

CREATE is located in downtown Silver Spring at 914 Silver Spring Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

Temporary Cancellation Policy: For upcoming No School Day Camps our cancellation policies have been adjusted to account for the current situation, and supersede our standard refund policies. A cancellation fee of 50% of the total registration cost will be enforced for cancellation requests received less than 5 days prior to the first day of the registered session. Cancellation requests received 5 days or more before the first day of the registered session will be eligible for a full refund minus a $15 administrative fee.


Program Logistics

Program participants will be required to bring a face mask and wear it throughout the day. Participants must bring a non-perishable lunch, refillable water bottle, and a snack. All food must be completely NUT FREE. CREATE does not provide lunch or snacks.


Health & Social Distancing Procedures

It is extremely important that you read our Health & Social Distancing Plan: Policies & Procedures in full. Each weekly group will consist of no more than 8 children (less than 50% of our usual group capacity), one teacher, and one supervising staff member. Tables will be spaced apart and all children will be seated at least 6 feet apart (sibling participants will be assigned to the same table). All participants must bring and wear a mask or other face covering.

Please complete and submit the following forms during the week before the session begins. Forms must be received by no later than the Friday before the first day of the session. Please note that each child will need their own health form, but the disclaimer form can be filled out once per family each session. You will need to complete the forms weekly for each registered session:

Camp Policies

  • CREATE reserves the right to use copies of artwork and photos taken during any camp, class, or workshop.
  • Payment is required to guarantee a spot in a camp or class.
  • Should CREATE cancel a program, all fees will be refunded.
  • ALLERGIES: Our camps are nut-free. Please do not pack any food with nuts or nut products in your child’s lunch or snack.
  • Also due to allergy concerns, children may not share food. This includes siblings.
  • Campers should bring a bottle of water, non-perishable lunch, and afternoon snack (if staying for After Care).
  • No soda, energy drinks, candy, gum, or lollipops.
  • No toy weapons (cap guns, water guns, etc.), handheld video game devices, or iPods. If you send your child with a phone, it must be kept in his or her backpack during the camp day.
  • Please let us know about any health concerns or medications your child is taking.
  • During warm weather months, when the weather is nice, we will walk off-site to Bullis Park with our campers for recess (which is located 4 blocks away from CREATE). We recommend appropriate footwear (closed-toed shoes) and sunscreen.

Enrollment and Refund Policies

  • Camps must be paid in full at the time of registration to guarantee your spot.
  • Should CREATE cancel a program, all fees will be refunded.
  • To request a refund due to a cancellation, please contact us at 301-588-2787 or registrar@createartscenter.org.
  • Please note our cancellation and refund policies:
    • Cancellations requested more than 24 hours before the start of the camp session receive a full refund minus a $20 administrative fee.
    • If it is more than 24 hours before the start of the camp session, you may request a transfer to another camp date (No School Day Art Camp, Winter Break Art Camp, or Spring Break Art Camp) with no fee.
    • There are no refunds available for cancellations requested less than 24 hours before the start of the camp session.
    • Transfer requests less than 24 hours before the start if the camp session are at the discretion of CREATE Arts Center staff, and will incur a $20 administrative fee if granted.
